In this article, we made a personality test out there for all those media enthusiasts who are still unsure as to what they want. Maybe this test can help you to get a clearer view of what you are, so go try it!
DMC has launched its creative new learning space, The Agency, a student integrated marketing communication agency! Let’s not forget the brilliant partnership DMC has established with the Starcom Mediavest Group, one of the largest brand communication groups in the world.
If there's one thing that CASS students will have fun at, it would definitely be during CASS FOC CAMP every start of the year! Here you can see for yourselves, how participants of the camp, now great role models in DMC, had enjoyed their own CASS FOC CAMP.
Now i know we've been telling you a lot of things about DMC, and this might seem like a lot of information to take in. So you might be drowning in this pool of words.
But fret not, because here's where the guardians of DMC step in. we figured we'd pause on all the words about DMC and really show you what are some of the things we come up with right here at DMC.
The following two videos are videos we did right here at dmc, during the modules Video production and Radio and tv management. They were a lot of fun to make and even funner to watch the end product!
So sit back and enjoy these videos, that show you the very essence of what we do in DMC.
The above video was done during our module called Video Production and Design Post, where we had to come up with a video of any kinds at all! Having the freedom to come up with literally any kind of video was very exciting and we decided to do it, horror style. It was through this module that we got to work with cool high-technology camcorders, and mics, boom poles, lightings and a whole lot of new fascinating tools! Fret not if you're unsure how to use all these new gadgets because our caring lecturers will definitely guide you along.
This video was done for our module: Radio Production and TV management. We got to feel what it would be like to partake in a live recording, and deal with all the tools they use during all live recordings. Just like those in TV shows you see! DMC equips you with all the tools you need for production, right here at our swanky new working environment called The Agency. This module will endow you with almost all the skills you need to be a technical director, producer, director, scriptwriter, visual director, floor manager and of course the star in front of the camera!
This video was done during a module called Social Media. Seen all those viral videos on Youtube or Facebook? Well you can do it right here at DMC with the power of social media at your fingers. This module teaches you all about social media like Facebook, Twitter and Blogger and all the tips behind how to successfully manage your social media presence. The best part about this module? You are graded for your social media participation! Sounds fun?
So there they are. Our very own work that we did over the past two years, with a little hardwork and a lot of shamelessness [ which you will definitely learn in your course of studying here in DMC! >:) ]
There's so much memories we have created along this wonderful journey and i don't think we could ask for anymore. And we hope you will have just as much fun (if not more!) in this jolly journey right here at DMC!
*We would also like to credit and say a huge thank you to all the awesome people who appeared in the videos, from DMC 04'11/12! )*
Ever wondered what life would be like as a media student influencing the world? Well, speculate no longer for today I share with you all the mundane, crummy, and occasionally exciting details of the life of a student up the hill.
Diploma in Media and Communication (DMC) is a course related most strongly by the Communications, Arts, and Social Sciences department in SP.
The noisiest of the block we share with students of other faculties, it is no wonder that we have been described as ‘eloquent’, ‘outspoken’ and ‘passionate’ by our lecturers. (Also read as: overly noisy, loud, and argumentative by non-lecturers)
It probably then comes as a surprise to many that DMC students are actually capable of utilizing other forms of prowess besides the tongue, as the power of our legs are not to be looked down upon as we trudge up the hill of despair every morning, afternoon, and night.
It’s a long walk up the CASS’s building’s hill, a place we DMC students groan and mope at which other courses call the “Er Mei Shan”— which can be loosely translated to ‘pretty girl hill’ due to our course’s high population of females, a harem you wouldn’t want to miss.
By the time we’ve finally reached The Agency’s (the classroom for DMC students) doors panting heavily, there is that small spark of either pride or annoyance as the student in question flashes their personal Agency card limited only to DMC students.
Pride due to the exclusivity, annoyance due to the fact that the blasted thing never opens before 8am, when a first class may always start. (If the latter is the case, fear not for you can always try your luck begging a cleaner aunty to let you in.)
With a 2kg Mac in one’s bag the first thing any sane DMC student would do is reach for the closest and most integral part of SP education—a power source for the Mac’s plug for a round of exciting game—studying.
Evidently, after the prolonged usage of the brains and intellect, one must have a break. So it’s up with friends to Food Court 6, an eatery located very conveniently right above The Agency classroom.
Then it’s back to either a round of fervent note typing (this is most commonly seen before assignment submission deadlines and/or examination periods)
And finally with a wave to friends, it’s time to leave the Agency and get to home sweet home.
Here is a video done by our students giving a first-person view of a typical day in DMC.
