Behind the Scenes of IMC+

The Year 2 students of Singapore Polytechnic’s Diploma in Media and Communication are hosting an event, IMC+ learning festival, offering a 360º experience of Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) in action. This event will commence from 4th to 8th February 2013.

Read on if you want to know more about how this entire event has been put into place, from the proposal of the campaign, to the actual launch of the event!!

This team’s proposal won the hearts of the lecturers and SMRT media, earning them the title of the overall in charge of our IMC+ event. Check them out!

Krypto is a five-man team, consisting of group mates - Priscilla Liew, Nora Tisha, Angelina Bok, Charmaine Lee and Mae Chu. The team was formed in mid October, when their second semester of year two commenced.

Priscilla - Overall Event Coordinator
As the title claims, Priscilla is in charge of everyone under the IMC+ Campaign we are organizing. Being the "big boss" of this entire event, Priscilla tries not to bring her emotions in when working.
"Having to be able to deal with all the stress professionally is the key to the success of this event!"

Nora Tisha - Marketing Design
Tisha is in charge of all the design related things for the IMC+ Campaign. The posters that you see at SMRT platforms? Yes, they are designed by her together with the entire cohort of designers, mostly from DMC02. "The most tedious part of being the head of designers is that there are too many conflicting ideas, but nonetheless, we pulled it off! GO IMC+!"

Angelina Bok - Logistics
Sponsorships play a very large part for the IMC+ Campaign. Not forgetting the most important factor of any event, THE FOOD. Angelina's team is in charge of planning out what goes in and out of the goodie bags we've prepared for our attendees, the gifts and prizes to be won by our contestants, and also the choice of food catered to all workshop participants as well as attendees.

Charmaine Lee - Social Media Campaign
Trendy social media platforms – you name it, we have it. Ranging from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and not forgetting our official web page!! Charmaine's team has worked really well in keeping all of you out there well updated about the up coming event!

Mae Chu - Experience Design
If you're wondering what Experience Design is, it's basically giving our attendees the best experience they can ever receive. Mae and her team placed themselves in the attendee's shoes and decided the location as well as the settings of the convention centre and auditorium.
Although Krypto is just another 5 man team, they are backed up by all the other Year 2 DMC students, and we promise you the best time ever at IMC+!

Our IMC+ posters have been placed up at all MRT stations on the North-south and East-West lines for about 2 weeks now. It took our Design team weeks to come up with a satisfactory advertisement to place up but it was all worth it! The posters look gorgeous and are extremely eye-catching and intriguing.  Our students are ecstatic about this and have continously posted up pictures of themselves with the IMC posters at various MRT stations. Be sure to look out for our posters and sign up for our IMC+ event!

Blood, sweat and tears were shed throughout the entire preparation for this event. The winning team were close to ripping their hair out several times as they work hard to ensure the event would be a success. Look how hard at work they are!

They are confined to a small room during meetings in order to brainstorm and finalize their ideas. It may be stress and hard work, but we are sure that all will be worth it when they see their event up and running on the 4th of Feburary!

Sponsors are crucial in any event. They help support and attract people to the event. Our students have been working hard to secure sponsors to ensure our event will have attractive goodie bags! After 2 months, we managed to secure a total of 18 sponsors, so there will be a variety of products in our goodie bags! We have some shots of our students collecting our sponsors’ products.
